Highlights of creativity pedagogy in foreign language classes with engineering students

Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the concept of creativity in the development of human personality, on the correlative interaction of individual psychological factors, which include the intellectual factors of the creative personality (skills, attitudes and cognitive style) and non-intellectual factors (motivation, attitudes, interests), of the social and psychosocial factors of creativity as well as other factors (cultural, biological), which drive the manifestation of creativity. The successful pedagogy of studying foreign languages in higher technical education is based on cognitive psychology with the stimulation of flexibility, fluidity and originality of students' thinking. The educable aspect of creativity is subject to a concrete analysis of the forms of creativity of engineering students, under a double aspect: linguistic and technical. Didactic interventions are proposed to make the instructive communicative act more efficient based on different thinking techniques - flexible and operative intellectual tools.
