Summary/Abstract: The author is aiming to deal firstly with the Romanian cultural tradition of healing in rural areas, and secondly with some peculiar Ethiopian healing formulas written in Ge´ez language. Generally speaking, healing tradition includes a number of accepted knowledge, skills, and practices based on the theories, beliefs and experiences to different cultures, whether explicable or not, used to protect the health. Both the Romanian rural cultural tradition of healing, and the healing formulas used in Ethiopan scrolls are interesting in themselves, and, for this reason, suitable for research.
