Summary/Abstract: Through analytical observations and comparisons, the article outlines a specific problem in today’s Bulgarian literary field – the need for active readers of contemporary Bulgarian literature for orientation signals in it. The survey framework is based on the arguments contained in the study “Reading Practices in Bulgaria 2006 – 2022”. The specific considerations in the field reconfirm the perceived risks in the study. At the same time, they demonstrate that the lack of prevention to minimize these risks is generally visible in the refusal of the national state to try to reduce them by supporting good literary critical approaches and encouraging the media construction of a current image of the process adequate to these practices.
