Summary/Abstract: This article examines the impact of institutional reforms on the economic policy conducted in the EU. The main goal of the analyzes is to identify shortcomings occurring in the management process at the supranational level. The article will attempt to answer the questions: what were the causes of the debt crisis in the EU?, what reforms were implemented in the context of improving the effectiveness of economic policy implementation? and which elements of the economic management system require further corrections? The first part will analyze rescue packages, which are quasi-instruments of fiscal policy, granted to some Member States experiencing a debt crisis. The concept of the European Semester will also be characterized, and the last part of the article will discuss new instruments aimed at strengthening fiscal discipline and support for initiatives undertaken to support economic growth. The research used institutional and legal analysis within a systemic approach.
