Summary/Abstract: For years, Europe's energy dependence on the Russian Federation hasinfluenced regional security. This unequal dependence was structural in nature andresulted from historical political conditions (the legacy of the USSR), infrastructure, andthe lack of countries in the immediate vicinity capable of supplying key energyresources. In Poland, few parties pointed to the threat posed by this type of unequalrelationship. The cognitive aim of this article is to interpret the political thinking of Lawand Justice (PiS) with regard to the assessment of Europe's energy dependence on theRussian Federation, as well as actions to strengthen the regional security system.According to the main thesis of the article, in the period 2015-2023, Law and Justicepresented a comprehensive vision of energy security based on minimizing Russia'sposition and focusing on efforts to diversify the sources and directions of energysupplies.
