Summary/Abstract: The armed conflict in Sudan, which has been ongoing since April 2023, is one ofthe most destructive and complex crises in contemporary Africa. The aim of this articleis to present the specifics of this conflict, which has been ongoing for two years (2023-2025) and, although it is taking place within the country, has regional and supraregional implications. The author argues that in order to understand the problemaccurately, it is necessary to analyze it as a civil war taking place in conditions oferosion of statehood, with particular emphasis on the struggle for control over territoryand resources. The text uses a qualitative case study method based on the analysis ofinternational organization documents, data published in the literature on the subject, and the use of triangulation of sources and elements of process tracing. The results ofthe analysis indicate that the war in Sudan has the characteristics of a complex, networked conflict in which spatial determinants and the humanitarian crisis play akey role, significantly affecting the dynamics of security in the region.
