The article that has never seen the light of day: Prisoner exchange of Bronisław Taraszkiewicz for Franciszek Alachnowicz in the view of the Belarusian Christian democracy

Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on an unknown until known article that was meant to be published in issue 30 of Biełaruskaja Krynica in 1933. The text was dedicated to the reactions of the Belarusian Christian democratic circles to the political prisoner exchange involving Bronisław Taraszkiewicz and Franciszek Alachnowicz, one of the most dramatic episodes in the history of the Belarusian movement in the interwar period. Decisive criticism of the event resulted in the article being barred from publication. The author of it was, with high probability, Jan Późniak, long-serving editor of the newspaper.
