Summary/Abstract: Anthropology is often viewed as a linear process of knowledge production with a definite beginning and end, consisting of clearly distinct stages. In most cases, however, anthropology is more of a continuous process of knowledge maintenance, in which the rediscovery of the fieldwork site must play an important role. It is not uncommon in anthropology for a researcher to revisit a former fieldwork site, which provides an opportunity not only to perceive changes within the given community but also to reflect on shifts in their own professional interests. In this article, I describe my return to a fieldwork site in Kenya twenty-five years later.
