Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of a pilot study concerning the possibility of establishing cooperation between seniors from the Associations of the University of the Third Age and refugee children from Ukraine, in the context of learning intercultural communication in Polish kindergartens. It undertakes an innovative proposal of involving seniors – mainly those speaking Russian – as potential intermediaries in intercultural communication. Particular attention is devoted to the analysis of seniors’ attitudes towards the proposed cooperation, their opinions and historical attitudes, willingness to cooperate, as well as the fears and obstacles accompanying them. The cognitive analysis is complemented by final conclusions necessary for planning similar initiatives.
