Summary/Abstract: This article examines how literary narratives shape and reinterpret both collective and individual memory in relation to national identity. It focuses on two literary traditions that reflect distinct historical experiences: English-language literature and Albanian literature. A comparative literary analysis is employed to explore these differences. The study finds that the memory regimes of the two traditions can be systematically compared. In the English-language corpus, inner temporality, stream of consciousness, and corporeality transform private experience into a foundation for ethical self-definition. In contrast, the Albanian corpus emphasizes landscape, urban space, and ritual as means of recording and preserving historical continuity.
