Summary/Abstract: This article reviews the legacy of the sacred art of Liudas Truikys in the St. Cross (Carmelite) Church in Kaunas. The frescoes depicting the Crucifixion, created according to the artist‘s designs in the 1950s, can still be seen on the church‘s eastern and southern facades. The article briefly discusses the history of the sanctuary and the church‘s reconstructions from the late 18th to the mid-20th century. Drawing on previous art research and published articles on this topic, the article aims to provide an updated perspective on the rare and unique legacy of sacred art created by set designer Liudas Truikys at the Church of the Holy Cross, which reflects the Carmelites‘ devotion to the Passion of Christ.
