Summary/Abstract: This article explores the relationship between the pragmatic approach and the development of student competencies, emphasizing the role of meaningful action and experiential learning in education. It highlights how the pragmatic method, through the application of knowledge and the assessment of practical consequences, fosters functional, transferable, and real-world competencies. Recent studies demonstrate that students actively engaged in authentic tasks acquire not only knowledge but also essential cognitive, digital, and social skills. From this perspective, competence becomes a tool for autonomy and practical engagement, aligning the educational process with the demands of a knowledge-based and responsible society.
