Summary/Abstract: Agricultural press, published in Romanian in the first half of the 19th century, being gradually developed from isolated articles in general publications to specialized journals, had an extremely important role both in disseminating agricultural knowledge, in modernizing traditional agriculture, in supporting agrarian reforms and economic progress, and in educating peasants and landowners. At the same time, it contributed greatly to the functional diversification and development of the literary language of the period. Our study focuses on such a specialized publication, entitled Gazeta săteanului [Villager`s Newspaper]. By analyzing its structure, content, the information disseminated and the terms used, we aim to highlight the role and social impact of the agricultural press on the culturalization and education of the readers.
