Summary/Abstract: This article examines the function of the salon as a distinct chronotope in Irène Némirovsky`s Suite française. The article argues that the salon operates not as a neutral backdrop, but as an active structural force that shapes character interactions, condenses historical time, and reveals the moral ambiguities of the period.
