Summary/Abstract: In this study, we seek to answer how the Hungarian press of Nagyvárad (Oradea) reported on the discrimination faced by Jews during the Second World War – including the laws, decrees, and various acts of violence directed against them – and what events it considered important to communicate to its readers. We regard this inquiry as particularly relevant because Bihar County, and especially its capital, Nagyvárad, was a major centre of Jewish life in Transylvania, home to the largest Jewish community in Northern Transylvania.
