Summary/Abstract: Although the appearance of the first part of Psychology from an Empirical Standpoint (Psychologie vom empirischen Standpunkte; hereafter PeS) is not the earliest translation from Franz Brentano (1838–1917) available to us, the volume published in 2024 by Humanitas is nevertheless the first fully consolidated version of the magnus opus, issued exactly 150 years after the publication of the editio princeps. Certain passages from PeS had already appeared, in Ion Tănăsescu’s translation, in the anthology The Concept of Intentionality in Brentano, republished by Paideia in 2020. Other (no less significant) texts by the German author can also be found in the volume Brentano – Comte – Mill. The Idea of Philosophy as Science (2018).
