Summary/Abstract: This paper investigates the foundational assumptions underlying the act of justice, adopting a Popperian approach to critically examine its moral and political grounding. The research contributes to the philosophical and legal discourse by clarifying familiar concepts and making them accessible to scholars from both disciplines. The novelty of this study lies in demonstrating that morality and politics fundamentally shape justice through their influence on human rights, legal systems, and the adjudicative process. By analysing the interdependence of these elements, I argue that the enactment of justice reflects broader normative commitments within a community. The study is structured in two parts: first, an exploration of the moral and political foundations of justice, and second, an analysis of their impact on legal definitions of rights, justice, and law. This work seeks to enhance interdisciplinary understanding and refine theoretical perspectives on the principles guiding the administration of justice.
