Summary/Abstract: This article explores the correspondence between Petru Caraman and Iordan Datcu, offering a valuable insight into postwar Romanian academic life and the ways in which the political context shaped research and scholarly publishing. The letters reveal both the challenges posed by editorial reorganizations and ideological constraints, as well as the authors’ efforts to preserve their intellectual autonomy. Moreover, through the letters, information about recent editorial publications is conveyed, and the works of colleagues are both appreciated and critically assessed. An additional key focus of the correspondence is Petru Caraman’s study Descolindatul în Orientul și Sud-Estul Europei. Studiu de folclor comparat.
