Summary/Abstract: The article proposes an introductory framework for analyzing the philosophical influences of the English intellectual tradition on the work of Ștefan Zeletin. It advances a methodology characterized by a dual dimension. On the one hand, it identifies the ideas explicitly assumed and developed in Zeletin’s writings; on the other hand, it undertakes a reconstruction of his intellectual genealogy, beginning with the systems of thought of the philosophers who shaped his perspective. This approach seeks to overcome interpretative limitations advanced by certain exegetes, according to whom the Zeletinian system remained incomplete. In doing so, the study offers a clearer perspective on the theoretical foundations of Romanian liberalism in the interwar period. By investigating sources and distinct philosophical traditions, the research provides a means of discerning and further developing the unfinished directions of Zeletin’s thought.English philosophy plays a significant role in the formation of Zeletin’s political and economic conception, particularly through representatives such as Adam Smith, David Ricardo, and Thomas Hobbes. Zeletin’s intellectual project cannot be properly understood outside the liberal context specific to the British intellectual space and his own philosophical formation. He achieves an original synthesis between classical liberalism, Hegelian elements, principles derived from English philosophers, and the historical realities specific to the Romanian context.
