Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the volume published in 2024 by Eduard Andrei and Laurențiu Vlad. A ‘bivocal’ discourse, written by a historian and an art historian, the book is a genuine work on “second degree” imagology of Romania, with the New York World Fair as the cosmopolitan space. Both authors explore the mechanisms of autotypes and hetero-imagotypes in a manner that goes beyond traditional Romanian imagology, without abandoning the robust data provided by documents. The two narratives (“two histories”) appear as a mirror representation of history/politics and art/politics.
