Summary/Abstract: This article addresses the multifaceted problem of combating drug addiction in various legal systems, including Britishcommon law, Polish codified law, and Turkish law, which has been significantly influenced by foreign and economic policies. Legalregulations from countries differing in culture, religion, history, and social approach to drug addiction are analyzed. The studypresents a gradual shift from legalistic law to opportunistic prosecution for possession of psychoactive substances. It considers the drugclassification methods adopted by individual legislators and identifies differing methods of segregation. It presents the current legalprovisions in the countries under review, highlighting significant differences between them in terms of prevention and criminal sanctions.It also examines the historical context of drug addiction, as well as the social movements and related economic policies of these countries.
