Summary/Abstract: This article examines how the Czech-American author Jaroslav Kalfař’s first novel Spaceman of Bo hemia (2016) uses metaphors of space travel and alien life to portray social issues and the linguistic and psychological traumas of immigration and nationalism. The translingual aspect of Kalfař’s text is further explored through a discussion of its translation into Czech.
