Summary/Abstract: This article discusses information on the presence of music at the court of Princess Barbara Sanguszko (1718–91) in the years when she primarily employed music teachers for her children, and subsequently information concerning the ensemble active at the court of her son Józef Paulin Sanguszko in Lubartów, which after his death (1781) was taken over by Princess Barbara and transferred to Warsaw. Apart from information concerning that ensemble’s make-up, the article also provides extracts from court accounts which offer closer insights into the court’s musical life. The text also includes new information concerning the inventory of music-related items owned by the Sanguszko family presented by Irena Bieńkowska in 2017, and proposes a different attribution for that document.
