Pastoral Exegesis of the Preaching Context: Landmarks in the Priest’s Culture for the Revitalization of Pastoral-Catechumenal Communication

Summary/Abstract: Today’s society demands a pastoral approach that corresponds to the contemporary way of life. Without renouncing institutional authority and traditional precepts, the Church is called to reach out to the individual by understanding them within the socio-cultural context we all inhabit. In these lines, I intend to highlight several features of contemporary society that ministers of the altar are duty-bound to know and consider in their pastoral mission. Building upon these, I also propose several avenues through which priest-believer communication can be revitalized.
