Landmarks for the Smooth Running of the Mission and Pastoral Service: Reflections from the Articles Published by the Holy Confessor Dumitru Stăniloae in the Newspaper Telegraful Român

Summary/Abstract: The research of all the articles in the Telegraful Român and the highlighting of aspects related to priesthood and pastoral care constitute the main novelty of this study. The words of Saint Dumitru concern practical, concrete things, which offer today’s priest favorable benchmarks for pastoral service. He does not offer priests some „recipes” for success through which they can succeed in their pastoral care, but presents the priest’s service as a natural consequence of his relationship with God. If this way of looking at things suited the realities of a century ago, we find that it is just as relevant today.
