Summary/Abstract: Prof. Dr. Acad. Simion Mehedinți (1868-1962), the first university professor of Geography in our country, was an Orthodox Christian who lived his life for God and confessed Jesus Christ „by word and deed” (Rm. 15, 18). In the words he spoke or wrote, he confessed justice, truth and love for God and people. For 17 years he edited Dumineca Poporului, a Sunday paper aimed at the spiritual growth of the Romanian people and bringing them closer to the Gospel of Christ. For him, the Gospel is the book of books that can illuminate the life of every person and help them lead a truly happy and fulfilled life. In his writings, Simion Mehedinți urged Romanians to honor feast days, to believe in God, to fulfill the words of God and to educate children and young people in Christianity. Simion Mehedinți remains in the history of the Romanian people as a worthy confessor of God.
