Summary/Abstract: In today's society, there is an increase in the share/percentage of elderly people and those who live to old age in the population. In this context, the isolation and exclusion of older people from society, as well as their marginalization, is very common. This paper will try to explain in more detail the concept of social exclusion, its causes, as well as the consequences it leaves on the individual. The aging process brings a series of changes - retirement represents a big step in the life of a working person, which entails significant changes in social life. These changes can be positive and negative. The positive consequences are reflected in the fact that older people then have more free time, less stress that comes with work and the possibility to learn new things, such as attending different courses or finding new hobbies. On the other hand, negative consequences include reduced social interactions, limited income, loss of identity, and other challenges. The departure of children to another country also leaves a mark on the elderly and usually causes negative consequences such as a feeling of isolation and loneliness, limited help and the like. Just because of this, it is important to point out the problem of excluding old people from community life and the need to improve their position and role in society. Further analysis of this topic can benefit (social) pedagogists and andragologists, directly influencing their work. This would help in identifying the mentioned problem, as well as in finding solutions that would emphasize positive contributions to the elderly. The primary goal is to educate young people about the aging process, how to treat and approach the elderly, and how to actively involve them in the life of the community. The creation of new social ties should be encouraged through various projects and workshops in which the younger generations and the elderly will participate together, organizing volunteering in homes for the elderly or involving the elderly in school. Next, it is important to design programs and services that will make it easier for older people to participate in social activities. A special title in the paper is Islamic regulation for the elderly. If we take into account that we are increasingly surrounded by old people, we should keep in mind the value of a gentle approach to older people. The Prophet, s.a.w.s. said: "If a young man respects his elders because of their age, Allah will send someone to respect him when he reaches his old age." (Tirmidhi)
