Summary/Abstract: Mihail Kogălniceanu was the foreign minister in 1876, between 28th April and 24th July, and between April 3rd 1877, until 25th November 1878. Between 1st April 1880 and November 12th, 1881, he represented Romania as a minister plenipotentiary at the French Government. These chronological landmarks of his career in foreign affairs present him as the personality of the Romanian political and social life at the late 19th century.
