Summary/Abstract: The proposed article marks the main starting points of the moral and ped-agogical views of Metropolitan Kliment Tarnovski. He attaches particular importance to the mother as the main pillar in the family, examining her role through the prism of upbringing, science and education. According to him, it is the mother who is the first educator of the child, who through her personal qualities, knowledge and behavior forms the moral and spiritual foundations of the future citizen. Therefore, he insists that a woman must be educated in order to fully fulfill her mission in the family and society. Drumev emphasizes that respect and support from a man are also essential for a mother to be a strong, inspiring and influential figure in the upbringing process. Knowledge and science are a means of survival for many nations. The mind-boggling development of culture on a global scale leads to the unifica-tion of people, erasing their distinctive national characteristics. According to V. Drumev, it is therefore necessary for peoples to master science and use it wisely, otherwise they may become victims of other, more educated peoples. V. Drumev presents his understanding of upbringing and education, empha-sizing that upbringing forms a person’s personal qualities, and education gives him knowledge through which these qualities can be used to the fullest for both personal and public benefit.
