Summary/Abstract: This article, entitled Saint George: a Reconsideration of his Biography, analyzes the information and comments regarding a Christian officer originally from Cappadocia, martyred, probably in 303 AD, at Lydda (today Lod, Israel). Over time, this martyr achieved an exceptional notoriety. The author rejects as unfounded some legendary elements in the Vita Sancti Georgii, such as those related to Alexandra, the alleged wife of the Roman emperor Diocletian, et alia.
