Summary/Abstract: The Law no. 331/2024 on the Forestry Code brings significant changes to the previous regulation (Law no. 46/2008), establishing a much more adequate legal framework for ensuring the integrity of the national forest fund. In this regard, the legislator brings important updates regarding the forest property regime, strengthening protection measures and more severe sanctioning of forest crimes. We will refer to these aspects in this study, given the particular importance that the protection of the forest fund has for human society.
