Summary/Abstract: The volume edited by Yvonne Hendrich (Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz) and Benjamin Meisnitzer (University of Leipzig) contains seventeen contributions written in Portuguese and German, which offer reflections on a broad and timely theme: the relationship between language and identity in the Lusophone world. According to the editors, “the authors shed light on this sometimes conflictual relationship, on the question of constructing one’s own identity, but also on the question of the unity that the language provides to the countries of the Lusophone sphere” (22–23).
