Summary/Abstract: An important figure in the Romanian Orthodox Church in the 20th century, Fr. Gheorghe Ciuhandu (1875-1947) is also a scholar and clergyman who advanced the idea of a Romanian Patriarchate after serving as an active member of the Great National Assembly in Alba-Iulia. In this research, we will consider his work in relation to these aspects and emphasize his contribution, its originality, and its actuality. We will both use his memories, the book, studies, and articles he published on the Romanian Patriarchate, as well as the historiography written by scholars like Fr. Pavel Vesa from Arad.
