Summary/Abstract: An important voice in Romanian literature from the French exile, Virgil Gheorghiu, also approached topics such as suffering, illness, and care for the neighbor in his books. We will try to point out the main aspects that define his vision and emphasize the particularities of his vision on the topic. At the same time, we will emphasize there the prophetic accents that can be found in his research and the practical outcomes of it. The research will therefore bring into attention an aspect of the life and work of the Romanian writer and priest that was not sufficiently emphasized by contemporary scholarship, and at the same time, provide topics of discussion and investigation for future research.
