Summary/Abstract: The performance reviewed by Ildikó Bálint is based on a text by Elise Wilk. What makes the Union Place an especially interesting performance is that the Yorick Studio has staged the play in a unique adaptation. At the request of director Aba Sebestyén, the author relocated the story from Timișoara to Târgu Mureș, dating it to March 1990, the peak of the Romanian-Hungarian ethnic conflict. The Târgu Mureș production features two Romanian and five Hungarian actors. In an attempt to address the city’s strange polarization and historical trauma, this sensitive authorial-directorial interpretation shifts the emphasis from the European to the local level.
