Summary/Abstract: Balázs Benő Fehér has created the script for a tragicomic memory trip from László Garaczi’s metaXa by, a novel rich in associatons, surreal images, shifting timelines, proper names written in lower case, changing identities and fantastic characters. His original adaptation premiering in Târgu Mureș marked the third time that the director has worked with the Tompa Miklós Company of the National Theatre of Târgu Mureș, and Ildikó Bálint’s review boldly states that the visual solutions of the performance are reminiscent of the director’s previous production Piros fű (RedGrass), adapted from Boris Vian’s novel. Both are characterized by bold transgressions, the exuberance of ideas and colours, experimentation with new theatrical forms, and bear testimony of the emergence of a distinctive directorial language.
