Summary/Abstract: Father Cleopa Ilie stands out among the personalities who adorned Romania in the twentieth century. Through his uttered or written words, but above all through his spiritual life, the Pious Starets of Sihăstria Monastery inspired priests, monks, and believers, converted hearts, and was a confessor of Christ in a difficult period of our history. The icon of his hesychast life, deeply imprinted on the conscience of his contemporaries and in posterity, has been calling people to God to this day. His whole life is worthy of the pages of the Paterikon, and at his tomb, in the heart of the cemetery of Sihăstria Monastery, those who bow their hearts in faith find comfort and the fulfillment of their prayers. His words, “may heaven consume you,” will always resound in the souls of those who love authentic philokalic life.Father Cleopa Ilie stands out firmly among the personalities who adorned the twentieth century in Romania.
