Summary/Abstract: For us Christians, prayer is the means by which we enter into communion with God. For some psychologists of religion, prayer is a „quintessential religious experience“. Regardless of how we would say and define it, through prayer we enter into communion with God and His Saints. However, if adults know how to pray or what prayers to say, the same cannot be said about students. Therefore, in our study, we tried to investigate how students from grades IV-VIII relate to prayer, if they were taught to pray at home, by whom they were taught, and what prayers they say. We did not only ascertain some facts, but we also tried to offer some practical solutions to help religion teachers, especially, catechists, priests who work with young people, workers in youth centers to plant the desire to pray in our students’ hearts.
