Summary/Abstract: This text presents a critical review by Vasile V. Muntean of S. Forțiu's extensive study on the historical identification of "Dibisiskos" and the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Ohrid Archbishopric around 1020. The reviewer rigorously critiques Forțiu's terminological inaccuracies, methodological flaws, and excessively repetitive arguments. A major point of contention is Forțiu's assertion that the Vidin Bishopric did not exist in 1020. Muntean refutes this by drawing on established Byzantine historiography, demonstrating Vidin's active ecclesiastical role during that period. Furthermore, the review highlights the strong historical and religious ties between the Banat region and the Byzantine Empire, evidenced by archaeological discoveries and historical documents.
