Summary/Abstract: The mission is understood as an integral qualitative characteristic of the Church’s body represented by believers (christinans). The mission of the Orthodox Church is sacred and represents the whole life of the Church - its inner life - insofar as we assume a certain boundary between the Church and the world. In this sense, every member of the Church is called to bear witness to Christ, and a Christian is, by definition, a missionary. A similar approach is found in the documents of the World Council of Churches, where the mission of the church is understood as the reconciliation of all people with God and with each other.
