BUILDING THE CHURCH THROUGH MISSION

Summary/Abstract: The Christian mission, from the very beginning, is the call to salvation aimed at uniting people in the same faith, in the Holy Trinity, in the same Baptism, in the same Eucharist, gathering the faithfull in the one Body of Christ. By transpose human being into a liturgical sacramental rhythm, for the transformation and renewal of man, we anticipate the Kingdom of God. To fulfill this mission, the Church trains and leads the world, in and through the power of the Holy Spirit, in three main actions: the preaching of the Gospel, the Holy Mysteries and the Christian witness. These mission coordinates are mentioned at the end of the Gospel according to Matthew, in the missionary great commandment. Following the commandments of our Savior and the Holy Tradition, which are consistent, the Orthodox Church understood the mission from an ecclesiological perspective.
