Summary/Abstract: World War I represents a turning point in the war propaganda development. All the participants in the war mobilized signifi cant resources and hired high number of experts with the goal to strengthen morals and patriotism of their citizens and at the same time to humiliate and demonize their enemies before the international community. Although they did not have resources at their disposal such as the United States or United Kingdom, Austro-Hungarian authorities worked carefully on this task. All the media of the time and most of the press were used for this purpose. By numerous well-thought actions, texts in newspapers, public manifestation, show trials, speeches and posters, Austria-Hungary tried to fi nd justifi cation for the beginning of the war and to attribute guilt for its outbreak to Serbs. Serbs are accused for their alleged “megalomania” and constant work on the internal destruction of the Monarchy with the goal to take over South-Slavic provinces from the Austria-Hungary and annex them to the Kingdom of Serbia.
