Summary/Abstract: A large number of glass vessels were recovered from funerary contexts, during older excavations in the Roman necropolises of Tomis (Constanţa, Romania), conducted by late Dr. Constantin Chera, from the Museum of National History and Archaeology Constanţa. This batch of archaeological material is currently under research, and it is hoped to be published in the near future. Among these glass grave goods, three containers were still preserving remains of their original contents, presumably cosmetic products, and they represent the focus of the present paper. The results of preliminary investigations, using the X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) technique and the Headspace Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry (HC-MS) technique, of their composition are presented and discussed.
