Summary/Abstract: The subject of the work is contained in the intention to present the phenomenon of fear concerning the restoration of the Habsburg dynasty to the Austrian or Hungarian throne, in the years after the First World War. The close monitoring of Habsburg supporters in the mentioned countries, as well as the ruling family itself, through official diplomatic missions abroad which were assigned the task of monitoring and suppressing Habsburg propaganda and pretensions, demonstrated the determination of the political elite of the Kingdom of SHS/Yugoslavia to keep a watchful eye on the moves of the overthrown dynasty. The tendency to demystify the role of the Roman Catholic Church and the side branches of the disempowered line in the general movements related to the restoration of influence in Central Europe during the interwar period is another essential feature of the article. The overriding importance of the article is the approach by which the research was carried out. The aspiration to unify the results achieved in foreign historiography, contained in hitherto mostly unknown and inaccessible literature for Serbian researchers, with knowledge obtained from unpublished documents of several funds of the Archives of Yugoslavia gives a comprehensive insight into the processes related to Habsburg activity between the two world wars.
