ORATORY MASTERY AND COMMUNICATIVE STRATEGY OF DENUNCIATION AND EXPOSURE IN “ZHENSKY SBORNIK”

Summary/Abstract: The article examines the communicative tactics and actions, implementing a strategy of denunciation and exposure in the complex of didactic sermons directed against pagan beliefs, and known due to its primary address to the female audience as “Zhensky sbornik” (Women’s Book). The paper studies late eighteenth-century collection of sermons copied by an anonymous scribe and kept in the manuscript collection of V. I. Grigorovich, Odessa National Science Library. The successful choice of communicative tactics, the selection of adequate speech methods and techniques, the optimal selection of efficient language means prove the oratory mastery of the compiler of the collection, which is considered to be J. Bradati.
