Summary/Abstract: The popular Vazov poem was written in 1919. For its 100-year-old life, the text has become an ID card of Bulgarians, a rite of passage to their national identity for the world. Unfortunately, this initiation is more formal than intimate because most Bulgarians do not know the whole work or its meaning. But with the language of a growing child, Vazov has put a real spell for the prosperity of the Bulgarian language and regardless of whether we understand it or not, as we speak it, it comes true.
