Summary/Abstract: The life of Arnold Weinrauch is difficult to pencil, there are few archival documents and press evocations. However, his life can be broadly reconstructed, revealing to us an enigmatic and controversial character, a character who dominated the life of the Târgu-Neamț community in the last years of the 19th century and the first years of the 20th . Enigmatic because we know nothing more about his first 20 years of life and how he made his fortune. He was an important figure of the local Jewish community as its leader, local businessman, philanthropist and banker. He spent the second part of his life in Iasi, where he was involved in the educational and social support of the local Jewish community, being also a banker and businessman.
