Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the Yevgeny Zamyatin’s dystopian novel “We” as an intertext that could be interpreted in the “age-old” context and compared to Plato’s ancient utopia “The Republic”. The aim of the article is to complete the intertextual relations that have been interpreted until now.Allusions have been made, corresponding to the Ancient Greek philosopher’s treatise through the usage of the intertextual approach and methods of comparative analysis. It has been concluded that many of the ideas that the ancient philosopher put forward in his utopia regarding the structure of the ideal state were brought to a logical conclusion in Yevgeny Zamyatin's dystopia.
