Summary/Abstract: Local public authorities are facing major budgetary pressures. A survey conducted by one of the main European financing institutions (the European Investment Bank) among EU municipalities shows that access to financing remains one of the biggest challenges, with almost two-thirds of cities reporting difficulties in securing the resources needed for investment. In other words, local revenues are not sufficient to support growth needs. What solutions are available?
