Summary/Abstract: Starting 1 January 2026, the legal framework regarding the acceptance of payments through modern means changes substantially under Law No. 239/2025. The new regulation imposes the obligation to allow payment by card or through account‑to‑account payment applications for almost all fiscally registered entities, including small merchants and service providers, under the penalty of considerable fines.
